Happy Holidays!

Just dropping by to wish everyone a merry Christmas or any other festive celebration you have this season! Since it's most likely the last post of 2011 (as far as I know how I updated recently X) ), I'd also like to wish all my readers a fruitful and happy New Year - filled with fun, friendship, granted wishes and truely magical moments!

Winter Fuzzies

The holiday season sure takes up a lot of fime - over the year I worked pretty hard and the increase of orders compared to last year is quite noticable! This is really inspiring, and I'm glad I decided to renew my faux fur accessories collection. I've added some new, more playful designs and am rather pleased with the results - I've been quite inspired by mori and fairy kei, so there may be traces of them here too! Too bad I couldn't find any wine red fur this season, but there is some beautiful jewel blue and green fur I'd like to try out.

Teddy Bear Scoodie - it's lined with fleece for extra warmth!
I've seen that collars are quite popular this year and decided to try out them myself - I drafted a wider version and a narrow one, and decided to decor them with some pearls and roses for a classic look and stars for a sweet fairy-kei look.

I still have quite a few ideas to work on, so this isn't the last fuzzy and warm items to be seen here. The very least, I have a few personal projects planned, which are sure to be posted - there isn't enough non-work posts around here and I'm going to change that.

Halloweekend

Hope you all had a nice spooky celebration this year - I sure have! Attended a small Halloween-themed fest where I finally had a chance to use a la Catrina get up. Nothing too fancy, but really cool and fun!

Me and my friend - can you say "thrilled to be here"? XD
I've wanted to make some skull jewelry for quite a while and here I finally got an excuse, hence the necklace. I'm quite pleased with the results, so there most likely will be new additions to my gothic jewelry line, mostly some neat OOAK stuff.

Out Of Season Blossoms

Hi all! Just wanted to give you all a sneak peek of my current project - I'm thinking of expanding my jewelry target audience and I'm thinking big.

I'm also currently busy planning my e-book on polymer clay - some tips, tricks and tutorials for beginners. Not sure if it'll go through, if I'll gather enough interesting material... Well, time will tell. I don't know how many people would actually be interested, but it's worth a shot)).

Rain-WOW!

I was planning to write about my birthday that was last week, but what happened a few minutes ago is far more interesting to share at the moment. It started to heavily rain and since the sunset sun was visible, I figured I'd see a sweet rainbow. What I didn't expect is that I would see the END of the rainbow.. Growing right out of my house.

All I need now is to see a real live unicorn.

Day 3 – 10 things you hate in lolita.

Things are a lil slow, so let's continue with this...

1. Peeking petticoats. I hate when it doesn't sit as it's supposed and part of the lace peeks from under the skirt.

2. The fact that whenever I pass near a table in I have to hold that puffy mofo not to knock anything of the edge.

3. Man-made leather shoes and lack of arch support. As much as I love the designs of most lolita shoes, it kills me a little that almost all of them are from man-made leather and aren't all that cheap as you'd think they could be. And not a single pair that I got didn't become a pain after a few hours at best.

My favorite pair of shoes - and one of the biggest pains ever.
4. How scalping second-hand prices can get. Why don't brands make a bigger quantity of print items or make an extra batch every now and then if the print sold out fast and the demand is high? It's not like they gain anything from the high prices in resale.

5. Lolitaz supposed to be nice! Yeeeeah...no. At least, not more than any decent human being should.

6. Little variety in models of clothes. As much as big is the variety of themes and prints in LF is, as little is the actual choice in cuts of the items actually is. From time to time there are some unusual takes on that, but most brands stick to 4-5 basic forms and only varies the decorations more or less.

7. Most "handmade" jewelry. Sorry, I may me a little biased, but a key charm on a earring hook or chain, or a plastic Hello Kitty charm glued to a barrette does not equal indie design. Anything that takes a minute to assemble from factory-made parts doesn't.

8. Solid black with white lace. It gives a vibe of maid outfits. At least when I try to pull it off.

9. Polyester. No way I'm paying hundreds for polyester.

10. Runny prints. Come on, the least you can expect of a $300 cotton dress is for the colors to live through a gentle wash without bleeding.

A Little Color on a Gray Morning

The weather is getting soggy and gray around here, so let me show off my latest colorful purchases - I was feeling a bit down after the con last month, so I made a mini shopping spree to Ebay.

A Care Bears coin purse and earphones and 2 vintage Polly Pockets that I simply love! One you may recognize from my nostalgia post - of course it's not the same thing I had, but still, - and a yellow heart locket. I'll need to clean it up a bit and replace the cord and it'll be a supper neat accessory for my fairy-kei mania.

Super Sweet Surprise!

Since my Birthday is a lil more than a week away, I decided to make a special offer for my shoppers:

So, as said above, all orders over $40 will receive gifts in the same style as the purchased items. It's a limited offer until my Birthday, so take full advantage while you can!

Shooting Star Sneakers

Finally got my hands on the sneakers I bought this summer. Now I finally have a fitting pair to coordinate with my black jeans and with my lavender fluffy hoodie for a great casual look! Now all I need to do is to get some black shoelaces, make star beads for them and these will be perfect!

Can't wait to start working on a white pair - I'm planning on making those pink x mint with a candy motif. Unlike the lolified sneakers I saw people make, I don't have any print clothes to match them with, so I'm not restricted in ideas.

Day 2 – 10 things you love in lolita.

So, this wasn't as easy as it seemed, but here's a list of my fave things about lolita.

1. Details. What fascinates me in this fashion is great attention to details, both in cut designs and prints.

2. Elegance. I've always been a rather serious person with a taste for retro, so the elegance of classic lolita is very appealing to me.

3. Cuteness. I was a tomboy as far as I remember, but lolita caught my eye in my late teens, when I began to  get into more girly stuff. And the cuteness still cheers me up!

4. The fact that it's a very unusual style. I love expressing myself in different ways and lolita became a way to express some of my also unusual tastes.

5. How much inspiration it gives. I love pretty stuff and lolita is very inspiring, with it's details, contrasts and various motifs.

6. Target audience. I don't know, does the fashion affect what I make, or I make it because of the audience, but I'm not so good with mainstream fashion or abstract jewelry, as I am with subcultural stuff.

7. Themes. I just get thrilled over the art that's used in lolita clothes - mainstream clothes start looking boring.

8. Variety. It can be dark, cute, sweet, elegant, punk - that's some choice within one subculture.

9. Aesthetics. I guess this sums all of the above, but I'm running out of ideas.

10. Cake! (I said I'm running out of ideas).

It Was Fine While It Lasted

As much as I was excited to try and move to Artfire as my main base of action, they disappointed me big time - over the months I only had one sale of of them and now, since they discontinued basic accounts, I don't see the point of staying. Plus, Etsy copied their one-page-listing system, so there isn't a difference now, except for the fact that on Etsy I get more publicity.

Well, that gives me more time to manage my Facebook Kiosk and other venues, so it won't be missed that much. Anywho, I've finally put up my newest creations up for sale - pretty soon I'll upgrade the series with ufo and rocket rings too. I've also added stud earrings and a star'n'pearl bracelet to the current line.

Fun-Kei Space is here!

Yay, finally! The biggest part of my newest series is ready! Since I made my Fun-kei Stars, I had these designs in my sketchbook, so, here they are in all their glittery glory.

Wishing Star necklaces - a little bandwagon too good to miss, but with my own personal twist. They are 57 cm long and are very sparkly and cute.

Set course to places no lolita has been in this awesome rocket! These necklaces are extra glittery and fun - they will feature a chain with an extra star bead and will be 77 cm long.

Welcome the most cute and friendly invaders! This is also a long, 77 cm with a trail of stars to follow these pastel spaceships.

There will be more items coming in this series, such as star bracelets and bow 2-way clips, but I was too excited to show these, that I couldn't wait another day! All the items will be made in any chosen pastel colors for perfect personal fit.
